# Curry & Conversation with Keir Starmer
*26 April 2025*

Here's part of a blog post I wrote back in March 2017. I'm beginning to feel increasingly uncomfortable about it now, but I'll let you be the judge.
"It's very easy to be cynical about politics and politicians, I've certainly been guilty of the that myself. However, when you hear a politician with conviction talk with passion about their party, the country and changing the world for the better, it's difficult not to be just a little optimistic.
Keir Starmer didn't need to become an MP - I'm sure it wasn't for the money. He certainly didn't need to come to this Indian Restaurant on a cold, windy Thursday evening in March. He spoke about the attack at Westminster the day before, human rights, the future of the Labour Party, opportunity, deprivation, helping others and making a difference for the better."
